I'm just intrigued to see it's usefulness. However most of my friends are not so tech literate so there's no one I know on there.

Horses for courses--Facebook is the online commune of choice for millions. We're using FriendFeed as a drop zone for third level multimedia assignments next term and are opening several FriendFeed rooms at the moment.
Cool. Good to see education establishments embracing the new ways of doing things :)

The room metaphor works for me. We'll see if it's a natural for students in September.
It looks interesting enough but I don't see a need for it as I am using Jaiku to syndicate my feeds from various soc nets already.
