Google Wave: I assume it will act as a total replacement for an email account? You'd be able to receive email from a non wave?

My understanding was it was designed to replace email, im & wiki. Many email "conversations" would be better over im, and many email conversations would be better as a wiki-page. I am not sure how the interaction in/out wave to old school systems will work
Aye, I assume it would function fine with regular email. I'm really looking forward to checking it out. I wonder would gmail become a Wave application?
It's quite cool, but saddened that it doesn't interact with normal email - they're going to have to sort that out or it'll struggle to take off.

@map: Oh, i think u're gonna get reasons eventually. :D Remember, when Facebook seemed superfluous? Now civil servants are urged to join FB. Now matter what the platform, the future is in complexly weaved communication with elements ranging from realtime to traditional formal letters depending on situation.
