Hey Rory,
I had a look through the site and had a few thoughts. I quite like the clean simplicity of it but a couple of things stood out to me. Obviously you might already have some of these on a list of things to do, but thought I'd mention them anyway.
I'm not so sure on the bottom cropping of the text used for the header and nav links - I think if there was a line actually cropping them it might look like it makes more sense, but at the moment it almost looks like a browser rendering error.
You could definitely do with a hover change on the nav links in order to give feedback to the end user.
I'm not a fan of table based design... ;)
It would be beneficial for search and accessibility to use a css image replacement technique on the nav links. I find it best to place navigation in an unordered list and use an inline span to cover the link text with a css placed background image. If you are going to stick with just images make sure to specify an "alt" attribute for each img element - at least then visually impaired users will have a better idea. or place a title on the surrounding anchor element.
Still on nav links - there needs to be an indication of current page - eg a 2px border-bottom or something, just so it's clear to the end user where they are.
The news section could do with a date on the news items so people know how recent it is.
I'd be interested to see how the images in the gallery looked with a very slight border and padding such as border: 1px solid #eee; and padding: 2px;
Pages: photos, contact, music, videos; I think all of these could do with some additional text maybe in a right column, just explaining what the page is about. Whilst it's self explanatory to a sighted visitor - it's not so clear for a visually impaired user. Don't forget that if you think about visually impaired users as including search engine bots, then it's much easier to justify spending extra time on clarifying things.

Aye, a lot more active on here. I've found the Jaiku Wave has alerted me to a nice group of people with whom I hadn't connected on Jaiku yet.
I'm consistently amazed by the strong community sense that still persists amongst Jaikuians :)

Had a long chat about everything yesterday and left on remarkably good terms. Real shame it's not something I was more into - unbelievably easy going and relaxed lady, but it would have been wrong to continue it.

Thanks guys. Things are all good, just feels like a real shame because she was decent and treated me well, but unfortunately no matter how much I wanted it to work out I just wasn't feeling it emotionally.
She sounds fairly ok about everything. Going to meet her for lunch today to have a chat, give her back some of her stuff and so on.
